New Years Eve

Ugh! Another NYE and I officially think this is the lamest holiday ever. You feel such pressure to do something fun. I am having my small group over with a few additions. We shall see. I will update tonight or tomorrow to see if it was a good time.

Duece Loves Cake!!!

I just got home from seeing Sweeney Todd. It makes me wonder why my cousin has seen it in the double digits, but it was pretty good. The people who make fake blood are definitely better off because of that movie. That is not, however why I choose to write. I thought I need to record a great dinner. We (Chris, Trevor, William (the deuce), Talia and I) went to Canyon Cafe - yummy! I laughed so hard with my new silly friends. However, our waitress - wow! She was super inappropriate; dirty girl is putting it nicely. It is so sad to see girls who think that being sexually explicit/crass is appealing or what they have to offer. I am sure comments like that get her attention and even momentary pleasure, but the soul inside is being damaged. We are not designed as ladies to give ourselves as easy as it is portrayed in movies or on TV. I won't say more because it has already been said better by others, but I will say I will pray for her to change the way she sees her value! I am so thankful God has reavealed how valuable I am to him!

Too Butch!

The only other person I know, who blogs is my friend Trevor, and I find that I have skewed my first few things to things he would know about - maybe even find interesting. It is not that I have written untrue things, it is simply that I have not been as girly or shallow as usual. I don't think I have talked about rhinestones or glitter, I haven't told any good store stories, or planned my next shopping adventure. Well, now I am going to try harder! Look out blog that no one reads (btw I haven't told anyone I am writing one!) I am going girly!

(Oh wait that is a lie my sisters' Mother -In -Law, my cousin in New York, my friends Chris & William all have blogs....but I guess Trevor is the one I think of because his was the 1st I began to regularly read. )

So at least I am remarkable in my weirdness. Last night my community group had a party along with a very unsuccessful book exchange. More info on Trevors Blog. Well, I was not feeling well but I kept thinking that I should stay the whole time. I am the "host" and all (yes this is flawed). So we were playing a game and I knew it was coming so mid game I left - puked - continued to play. What? Who doesn't leave after that...apparently me.

I love you!

Do some say this too much? I have a friend almost on the aquataince level and everytime I see her or talk to her she says "I love you" several times. It bothers me; I think this makes me crusty. Oh well.

Thankful me...almost

Thankful Me:

I am in retail - we have had the best year yet; I work fewer hours than most; I have some of the best customers ever; I have some of the best employees ever; Any job from trash man to minister is your ministry and mine has so many chances to interact and bless others.
I have an amazing family to gather with.
I am financially better off than most when you put me in perspective with the world.
Amazing friends eventhough many of my favorites are far away - new ones are entertaining me.
Cute playhouse to live in.
Great earrings and flip flop collection.

Unthankful Me:
I am in retail which means tired, all "Christmased" out, and questioning humanities kindness.
I am reminded of my single state at all family gatherings.
I don't have as much money as I "need".

I often wish to be the person who can only see the thankful side: I can't wait till that is me. For now I will be me - a mostly thankful me.

Amos Lee - My 1st recomendation

He has such a great sound. I am so 2005 and prefer the older cd titles Amos Lee. Stand out songs are Colors, Black River, and Arms of a Woman. However, I bought the whold cd which I rarely do and can happily listen to it all.
